Amazon plans to offer 70% of the 175,000 agency workers the company hired to cope with the increasing demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The enterprise Reuters confirmed its long-term hiring plans.
In June, Amazon will invite 125,000 warehouse and logistics employees to stay with the company, opening up benefits that are not available to seasonal workers.
Amazon has been aggressive in the past few weeks as customers who isolate themselves at home make online purchases for essential items. The shift from new hires to long-term positions suggests that Amazon expects demand to increase further.
